UW Stout Sorensen Hall Fire Alarm & Protection Replacement

In general, the work consists of: Replacing the fire alarm system and installing a new fire protection system in Sorensen Hall. Project work includes replacing the fire alarm and smoke detection system including annunciator and control panels, telecommunication cabling, pull stations, and horns/strobes with speaker devices. Additional devices will be installed in various locations as required to meet current codes and standards. The replacement system will provide signal communications to central campus reporting and a third-party entity. The project will also install a new sprinkler system and waterless fire suppression system for Network Connection room 114A that house the main campus servers, switches, and uninterruptible power supply units. The project includes the removal, installation, and replacement of ceiling finishes to access ceiling spaces for the installation of these systems.

PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A non-mandatory pre-bid tour is scheduled for April 8, 2025 at 3:00 PM. Please meet at Sorensen Hall in Room 205. It is encouraged that contractors attend. Participants can park in Lot C-27 south of the General Services Building and use the pay-by-plate kiosk to pay for parking (it’s recommended you pay for 2 hours). If lot C-27 is full, participants can park along the street and use the street kiosk to pay for parking.
