PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A pre-bid tour will be conducted at the site December 19, 2024 beginning at 10:00AM. Participants should meet in the parking lot at the SW corner of the existing preservation library building located at 1061 Thousand Oaks Trail, Verona, WI. All bidders are highly encouraged to attend this Pre-bid Conference / Building Tour and no separate tours will be conducted. DESCRIPTION: In general, the work consists of a new roughly 36,000 gross square feet remote storage facility as an addition to the existing 10,000 SF storage facility in Verona. The building would be a single-story building with a high-capacity structure to support high density storage. The HVAC system will be preservation grade with the ability to maintain proper relative humidity and temperatures with minimal fluctuation. Collections located in this new storage facility will be some of the most valuable and important items from special collections and all systems shall be designed to ensure their long-term preservation. All lighting shall be LED and fire suppression systems will be an ESFR sprinkler system with dry pendants in conjunction with an aspirating smoke detection system (VESDA) to meet the preservation grade requirements. The building systems are all-electric with 85% of the building power consumption generated by on-site solar panels.
